I can't tell anyone how happy we were when Crasher revealed on the Sheffield section of the website that a new flagship venue was to be launced in the final trimester of 2008. About time we all thought! Crashers comin home!!

Er..no it's not. Sheffield has been sold out to Birmingham.

The spiritual home of Crasher, its roots, its culture with its faithful following have been given the finger. Gatecrasher have taken the money and done a runner.

We always knew they were branching out from trance to expand and continue to make money but they're slowly killing off what we know as Crasher even with the little Trance resurgence, filling Magna 4500 people 3 times over. It’s like they couldn’t care less. I’m more and more inclined to believe that the fire was an insurance job.

It's sacrilege that the flagship of Gatecrasher will be in Birmingham. The wigs at Crasher should be ashamed. Their business acumen is obviously flawed with Air and Godskitchen about a mile away - Good shout, what other club really riveled The Republic in Sheffield??

Republic RIP, you will be missed.

:)I have been reading all the post over the past couple of days and I just wanted to say.

I had a great time, I was prepared for the weather had my wellies and my mini mouse rain coat, yes it was wet and cold but hey it's ENGLAND.

I have been to a few festivals and a few sss and I have never really paid to go VIP, don't ever see the point.

Festivals are what you make of it and the people your with and if you let little things get you down they turn into big things.

I had food poisoning from something I ate on the Monday morning from a stand but hey. I still had a great time and met loads of nice people.

Hi guys. As you can imagine most of us are a little pissed off about the weekend. Some of it was maybe not all your fault, however we want answers to the following, please don't blag us. We know blag when we see it.

1. Why was car parking £10 for the day and not £5 (don't give that "most people were coming for the weekend nonsense please because even on a Sunday with only 1 day left you was still charging £10)

2. "Rubbing shoulders with the stars"? What was all that about? I'm not a celeb chaser and wouldn't have spoke to them if they was there but the stars in the sky were closer.

3. Why was we charged (made) to upgrade to VIP so as I could go and get my inhaler from the car? (We only went for the day therefore had no wristband.) Surely someone could have remembered my face and let me back in?

4. What's with the VIP area? Do you agree with everyone here that say it was not great to say the least?

5. Why was the VIP area 1 mile away from the main stage?

6. Why was the car parks not secure as you said they would be?

7. Why was you still taking FULL money from everyone attending on the Sunday without telling them that the main acts had cancelled?

Any more questions from you guys you can add them here and hopefully gategrasher admins would be kind enough to answer all those points.

I know this event was over priced and the security was a joke, i keep hearing this was not a better event than global but come on, the sound was way better and the tents in a hole were way better the line up is miles a head of global this year, lets all wait shall we and see what the pricing is this year at global i bet its over 4 pound a pint and last years vip was a fucking joke .

I had a great day on the saturday its was superb event, sunday it rained we all know what happened but come on every one was it all that bad, its what you make it and people moaning about a couple of problems stick to seing you main acts in a closed arena where it can not rain just get on a party:D

Ok so it all started well with the nice weather on the saturday, casually having a few beers outside my tent in normal camping area. But then....

- We discover that they were no showers in the camping area (as promised on the website when we bought out tickets, which we have now discovered has been changed on the FAQ section)

- Toilets an absolute disgrace (worse than at most festivals, not maintained at all)

- Drinks were £4.50 a pint (in line with other events....I THINK NOT)

- Water was £3, shocking

- Prodigy performance.....what the hell was going on with the sound!!

- Rain (which had been forecast for bloody ages, allowing GC to adequately prepare) means Chem Bros, Hot Chip get cancelled, and loads of the other main stage acts (inc Pendulum) get moved to tiny tents where no one can get inside as its so busy.

- Crap selection of food which was all ridiculously overpriced. Apart from the chinese stall which was ok and got a fair amount for your money.

- Girls being frisked by male security at the gate (WHICH IS ILLEGAL). The law states that only female security may frisk women, and vice versa for men.

- None of the staff could tell us what was going on in terms of the cancellation of acts, not even at the information points.

- Poor VIP people who paid a fair bit more for their tickets, basically recieved no VIP treatment. It was basically the same camping but a fraction closer to the arena. BIG WOW.

And the list goes on. Im so disappointed. I can cope with a bit of rain and wind, but the lack of organisation and preparation by GC ruined the event. People did not get what they paid for on so many levels and therefore should get a refund. Using the weather as an excuse is not valid, it rains a Glast. nearly every year but no one ever gets cancelled, BECAUSE OF PREPARATION.

And to add insult to injury it would appear that GC organised their event next to a landfill site or something, so the air smelt of death all weekend. NICE.

What a rubbish and expensive weekend, feel like Ive been robbed.

i can honestly say i was well impressed with the price of the ciggies. they were 5 pound for 20 lambert!! thats cheape than all the shops! AND you got them in a quality metal tin packet thingy which ive never seen before. Thanx crasher u sexy bastards. im still not moaning like majority of the people on this board.:):D

Right, in the hardcore tent on the sunday, there was this amazing tune. It went like "this is an anthem for the girl that got away..." That's all I can remember (I was a little bit battered). What is that song? It's driving me mad!

this years SSS was one of the best festivals i've ever been to (and i have been to quite a few in my time) yeah there were a few problems but so what every event of this scale has a few, the important things like a great atmosphere and fantastic people and some amazing sets from PVD, oakie, picotto and loads more and a fantastic performance from the prodigy

hope they do it again next year

looking at the lineup, theres a few on there id like to see (tocadisco, axwell) but the rest im either not too fussed on or they are already at gatecrasher :D

i see tiesto on there, so you tiesto fans hoping for him at gatecrasher you have a chance to see him play at least :D - unless he does become a surprise guest
