how was the camping?

Can you buy a wkend ticket on the Sun so I can camp?

Is it possible to turn up on the Sun and pay for a wkend ticket so that I can camp over? I know it seems abit silly paying that extra money but i'm hoping some touts may still be selling wkend tickets for cheap. Its only me, i'm meeting friends on the Sun morning. Or maybe someone can tell me if its possible to sneak into the camp site with just a sun day ticket ;)

VIP Camping was it a rip off? (VIPs only please)

This is here for anybody who paid for vip and didnt feel they had any benifit.

Firstly, before anybody says anything about "stop complaining moaning/ you shouldnt be at festival blah blah" i had a great time, loved every minute of the arenas, but didnt see any benifit of VIP.

We arrived first thing saturday morning (8.00 am) and were first in the que to enter the campsite, if we had pitched in the standard camping we would have been closer to the arenas and car park.

Also we were put under the impression that it was to be sort of spacious, we were wrong, we set our 3 tents and a gazebo and wind breakers first thing (about 10.30 am) but by the time the arenas had opened at 4ish we were feeling bad for taking up to much space, we couldnt beleive they were packing in more VIP into that tiny patch of grass.

As for paying extra for it to be secure, especially where we were parked, we were approched by somebody selling fake programmes, unfortunatly we fell for it and brought one each for £5 (there goes £25) how is it possible to allow somebody in to a SECURE area with a massive bag FULL of fake programmes? couldnt belive it!

PLEASE COMMENT ON YOUR VIP EXPERIANCE, GOOD OR BAD. AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL GET AN EXPLANATION FOR GATECRASHER. WITHOUT ONE I, NOR ANY OF MY FRIENDS WILL EVER ATTEND A GATECRASHER EVENT EVER AGAIN (even if they do try to lure us with one of the best dance/electronic music line up in UK festival history lol)

Campsite securiy

as with pretty much everything this weekend the security on the campsite was geared up to making money, they were more bothered aboutpeople taking booze down to the arena than they were checking wristband to get back in. I went up to our tents multiple times and they didn't check my wristband!

Just another thing to mention, in the FAQ'S there is the following statement:

Q: How long can I stay at the campsite after the festival?
A: We encourage people to sleep before making any journeys so you will be able to stay in the campsite until 4pm Monday 26th May.

In that instance, how comes we got woken up at 9.15am telling us we had to be gone off the site by 12 at the latest!!!!

Another nail in Gatecrashers coffin.

Surely as it's in print on there website there must be some legal angle that could be taken!!!

What does everyone else think?

the VIP camp site was gob smackingly bad but ther were a group ther that made my camping experience alot better.

Hello, we are 3 girls from Leeds (Kate, Holly and Laura) who went to the festival on Sunday.

Between 9-10pm we found 3 Australian men who live in London, can anyone help us to identify them???!!!!

We were slightly intoxicated so did not get a lot of info from them!!

Holly was talking to a guy called Alex.

Laura was talking to a guy who was a plumber (and was extremely fit, with a lovely body!)

Kate was talking to the quieter one!

There were all 23 years old! Please help!

Hope you all enjoyed your treatments :-) shame the weather scuppered the roaming massage and the blow drying element but the funky up dos went down well !

We've had a number of comments online and in person over the weekend stating that you wanted us out in the main camping area and we will be talking to the promoters to see if we can make that happen for you next year. Are you Crasher lot trying to make it near on impossible to get to the site from northampton?

The following "News Flash" on the website states;

"NEWS FLASH: For the duration of the event there will be no access to the aerodrome or event via the village of Turweston. There is a road closure in place and only residents will be able to enter the village."

Does this mean any people trying to drive into the turweston aerodrome are buggered then..?

We will be arrivng by taxi so what is the closest we can get to the site?

When I originally looked on this website it said that free shuttle buses were laid on from Milton Keynes of Northampton train stations to the site. Now it looks like due to engineering works they're advising us to go to Banbury station instead but there's no mention of free transport from there to the site?! I've looked on happyshuttlebus or whatever its called ant it looks like tickets are about a tenner - is that right???

I am from Perth in Australia and am flying in on the 25th at 2.15 and really really want to go to this gig we are staying at the Astor Quest in Bayswater (i think lol) and would love to accompany some young ravers to this gig.
